Dear CBDNA Colleague,

I hope this letter finds you enjoying another successful Fall semester. I am writing to invite your participation in our seventh CBDNA Southern Division Intercollegiate Band, to be held at the CBDNA Southern Division Conference in Oxford, Mississippi, February 24-26, 2010. We are pleased and sincerely honored to announce that Professor Jerry Junkin, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Dallas Wind Symphony, as well as Director of Bands at the University of Texas at Austin, will be our conductor/clinician.

Our goal is to offer our students a great musical experience in an excellent ensemble comprised of instrumentalists from as many institutions as possible. With this in mind, participation will not be limited to students attending a college or university of a certain size or profile. Any student whose director is an active member of CBDNA may participate, and every institution in the Southern Division is encouraged to participate.

Enclosed you will find information pertinent to this event. Please share this information with your students or post the information. Note that the convention begins Wednesday, February 24 and the Intercollegiate Band will begin rehearsals that afternoon, with a concert on Friday evening, February 26.

I hope you will consider offering this unique opportunity to your students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Donald F. Allen Chair, CBDNA Southern Division Intercollegiate Band
