Carson-Newman Band NEWS

On October 25, 2008 Burke-Tarr Stadium will once again be host of the USSBA Eastern Tennessee Regional Marching Band Championship.

The Carson-Newman College Wind Ensemble will present a concert Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 8pm at Gentry Auditorium. The Wind Ensemble will perform both as a large ensemble, and in smaller woodwind, brass and percussion combinations. The program will include music by deMeij, Grainger, and Whitacre, as well as settings of Old Hundredth and a Mozart overture.

For the fifth straight year, the C-N Marching Eagles have broken their own record. The record now stands at 115 members. In the 2004, the Marching Eagles set the first record in the current series, with the largest marching band in Carson-Newman history at 64 members.


The BYT has finally achieved that long-awaited milestone - retirement! On August 17, 2007 the truck officially said 'farewell' as its replacement, the new BLT, rolled into town.

After an exciting retirement trip to Hawaii

and the Grand Canyon,

the BYT is at home at Shady Rest Swann Hill, resting, relaxing, and occasionally substituting short term for the BLT.
