OUR BEGINNINGS
| Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity was installed at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee February 26, 1966. Installing officer from the Board of Directors was Mrs. Helen Downie Bishop, International President of Delta Omicron. She was assisted by Zeta South Province President, Lucy Pat Curl. Ann Anthony Jones, faculty member, was appointed by the Board of Directors as Chapter Adviser and Sue Swilley was appointed Chapter Faculty Sponsor. The initiation ceremony and installation musicale took place in Chambliss Fine Arts Building and a reception was held in the parlor of Sarah Swann Dormitory on the campus of Carson-Newman College. |

| Alpha
Gamma Chapter has received the top Fraternity awards "Award of
Excellence" and the "Efficiency Award" for 41 consecutive
years. These awards are bestowed upon the chapter for outstanding
achievement in all collegiate workings of the Fraternity.
Alpha Gamma can be proud of the fact that many of their alumni have served in Delta Omicron National Offices through the years.
Alpha Gamma Chapter is proud of our 430+ alumni. They continue to use their musical talents in their community and church wherever they live. Our current President is Sarah Pridemore, who is a piano performance major in the Music Department of Carson-Newman College. |
