map shows the regions of the world where Romansch is
commonly spoken (red circle).
Romansch is also called Rhaeto-Romanic. It is a non-literary
language spoken in the Grisons, southeastern Switzerland,
Tyrol, and in adjacent parts of northern Italy. It is related
to modern languages such as French,
Romanian, and Portuguese.
