The following annotated
bibliography on werewolves and lycanthropes was written by Jeremiah

Medieval Monsters"), on July 19, 2001.
Annotated Bibliography on Lung Dragons
Birrell, Anne. Chinese Mythology. The John Hopkins University
Press 1993.
This book is a historical recollection of myths about dragons and
other mythological creatures and events in Chinese history. It talks
about the origins of dragons and their powers. It looks at these myths
as a chronicle from the things that in ancient mythology were deemed
to be fact.
Eberhard, Wolfram. Legend, Lore, and Religion in China.
Chinese Materials Center, Incorporated 1979.
This book does a very poor job in explaining ancient Chinese mythology
and religion. It does not mention dragons or their roles in the world,
what powers they have, or what things in the world they control. I
would not recommend that this book be used in research of this particular
subject.
Starck, Kenneth. The Dragon's Pupils, A China Odyssey.
Ames: Iowa State University Press, 1991.
This book has no mentions of dragons at all. In fact it is a book
about communist China. If you are writing a paper on communist China
then this would be a good book to read, otherwise I would not recommend
it.
Sanders, Liu. Dragons, Gods and Spirits from Chinese Mythology.
Peter Bedrick Books 1980.
This book goes into great detail about specifics of certain dragons
and their origins and powers. There are fantastic artist renditions
of certain stories and dragons. This is a fantastic book and the drawings
make it even better. I would highly recommend that anyone, whether
writing a paper on dragons or not read this book.
Walls, Jan and Yvonne Walls. Classical
Chinese Myths. Joint Publishing Company, Hongkong 1984.
As the title states this book depicts several different Chinese myths.
This book depicts dragons as being part of nature. For example it
mentions the illuminating dragon. When this dragon opens its eyes
it illuminates the world, in other words it is the sun. When it breathes
this is the wind and when it exhales this is what brings about winter
time. It is sort of a creation type portrayal of the Chinese world
and this includes dragons.
